ROB JACOBS is a native Texan, born and raised in the Lone Star State. He was born in Galveston and has lived in San Antonio, El Paso, and for the most part, Houston.
Rob started
playing at the young age of 12 when he heard
his next-door neighbors oldest son
playing his guitar and asked if he could pick up his
guitar and try it. The minute he hit his
first chord, he immediately knew that this was
what I wanted to do. Throughout high school he
played in a band called Black Rose playing AC/DC,
Eric Clapton, CS & N, as well as related bands
of the era. During College, he played for a
regional group called Sky King and played a
little bit more AOR style of music
that included Van Halen, J Geils, Led Zeppelin,
and the Eagles. In the early 80's, he
joined a R & B Funk Band called
named The Eastex Freeway Band, and he learned a
whole new style of music, that opened him up
to a whole new world of guitar styles
including Jazz and Funk. During the 80s-90s, he
played Top 40 Music in a band called Caption
and enjoyed the experience of playing with
some excellent musicians that played a variety of
music which ranged from George Benson to
Madonna. In the late 90s, he joined a
band called Just Got Lucky, and began his
journey back to his roots and his early love
of the Blues and Southern Rock Music. He has
become known as a ferocious slide guitarist
during this period and also has released his
first CD- All Over Town. His musical roots include
Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Billy
Gibbons, George Benson, Jackson Browne, and the
